Bodhisattva, Tang dynasty (618–907), about 725/50; Buddha, Tang dynasty (618–907), about 725/50; Bodhisattva, Tang dynasty (618–906), about 725/50.

Join Tao Wang, Pritzker Chair of the Arts of Asia and curator of Chinese art, and Colin Mackenzie, curator of Chinese art, as they discuss the reunion of the Tang Buddha and bodhisattvas, the most important examples of Chinese Buddhist art in the Art Institute, in Gallery 101.

The gallery now showcases Buddhism as both faith and inspiration for art across the Asian continent, a result of a thoughtful and careful consideration of the themes of compassion, wisdom, and enlightenment during the re-installation process.

We recommend using a laptop or desktop computer, and downloading the latest version of Zoom to enjoy this program.
