When Kevin uses the talk boy to play back audio clips he recorded. They play back as if they are being played through large stereo speakers.
The audio from the talkboy when he plays the recording of the uncle singing sounds too big and too realistic for a simple toy with a 1 inch speaker.

Shortly after Kevin steps into the bathroom to get his tie he sees and hears his Uncle Frankie singing in the shower. He records the singing. His uncle then discovers him and says to Kevin “Get out of here you noisy little pervert or I’m going to slap you silly.” Kevin is still recording when his uncle said that then leaves slamming the door and runs down the hallway. After Kevin ran out his uncle then says “Oh, Your cooking Frankie.”
Later in the movie when Kevin is at the hotel and the Mr. Hector (Tim Curry) the hotel concierge walks into the bathroom you hear the recorder play the “Oh, Your cooking Frankie.” part of the recording that the recorder couldn’t have recorded because it wasn’t in the bathroom to record it at that time.
The recorder plays what his uncle said after he closed the door and left the bathroom. At the very least the audio on that part of the recording should have been garbaled.
